AEF Raises Over $500,000 at June 23 Fundraiser

GLENDALE—The Armenian Educational Foundation announced that its annual fundraiser, held on June 23 at the home of Ruzan and Vahe Kuzoyan, has successfully raised over $500,000. This year’s event brought together members of the community, philanthropists, and supporters dedicated to advancing educational opportunities for Armenian students.

The evening was marked by heartfelt speeches, inspiring stories of students who have benefited from AEF’s programs, and a vibrant display of community spirit and generosity. The funds raised will be directed towards scholarships, educational grants, and resources to support the academic aspirations of Armenian students both in Armenia and the diaspora.

In addition to the funds raised, the event also honored distinguished educators for their outstanding contributions to Armenian education:

  • Carmen Der Garabedian, Holy Martyrs Ferrahian High School & Cabayan Elementary School;
  • David Ghoogasian, AGBU Manoogian Demirdjian School;
  • Sona Madarian, Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School;
  • Sona Madenlian, Holy Martyrs Ferrahian High School;
  • Zepur Mardirosian, Holy Martyrs Ferrahian High School & Cabayan Elementary School;
  • Roubina Pakradouni, Armenian Mesrobian School.

The evening featured a special performance by pianist and composer Grigori Balasanyan, a recipient of the AEF Richard R. Tufenkian Scholarship in 2022. Grigori is a young Armenian composer whose work combines the richness of Armenian cultural heritage with contemporary musical styles. One of his notable achievements is having performed at Carnegie Hall and other prestigious venues.




Serop Beylerian, the AEF Board President, expressed his gratitude during the event: “We are overwhelmed by the generosity and support shown by our community. Every dollar raised tonight is a testament to the commitment we all share in fostering education and providing opportunities for our youth. This is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of our collective dedication to a brighter future.”
