Turkiye kicks off second domestic car production after TOGG

HABAŞ Automotive will use Honda’s production factory in Kocaeli Şekerpınar, which it purchased, for passenger car production. It is planned to produce two different models of vehicles, sedan and crossover. It was also stated that there will be three versions of the passenger car, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and gasoline. HABAŞ Automotive General Manager Hüseyin Urkun stated that HABAŞ first started R&D activities in İzmir Çiğli at the beginning of 2021, established a factory for mass production in an area of ​​100 thousand square meters in the organized industrial zone in Manisa and that the factory in question will start mass production at the beginning of 2025. Urkun said, “The total investment, if you include the commercial and passenger car investment, has reached approximately 250-300 million euros. Total investments may reach 1 billion euros.”
