Railways remain a backbone of Azerbaijan’s transit strategy. From January to October this year, 5.9 million tons of international cargo worth $2.5 billion moved through the country by rail. Though still robust, this represents a 4.8% decrease in volume and 5.5% decline in value compared to the same period last year.
