Sagarejo Municipality, Georgia: The Mayor of Sagarejo Municipality, Avtandil Gulikashvili, congratulated Muslims on the holiday of Ramadan Bayram on 30 March, 2025. He was accompanied by the Chairman of the City Council, Alexi Gilashvili.
The two delegates commenced their trip to the municipality’s villages at dawn. Ethnic minorities reside in these villages who are celebrating their holiday in a festive manner. They also wished the minorities a successful pilgrimage and gifted them with traditional sweets.
Mayor Avtandil Gulikashvili stated that they have one homeland and the history of their coexistence goes back centuries as they are connected by great friendship. He further added that he is very proud that their closeness and mutual respect has passed down from generation to generation. The Mayor also wished the Muslim community peace and prosperity with all his heart.
Additionally, on the Sagarejo Municipality City Hall page, a post was made public on Facebook on the 30th of March, 2025. In the post, the Mayor was included alongside citizens and civilians of the municipality while they were celebrating Ramadan, alongside other footage chronicling their visit to the villages.
Keda Municipality prays for the Muslims during Ramadan
With the celebration Ramadan Bayram holiday, Keda Municipality has congratulated the Georgian parish with mayor Roland Beridze, Kedi municipality delegate to the highest council of Adjara, Mamuka Turmanidze, first deputy mayor Imeda Vasadze, deputy mayor Mamuka Fartenadze, and local self-governing bodies representatives met the followers of the Muslim religious community.
Moreover, all active mosques in Keda have also performed the festive prayer of Ramadan Bayram. The Keda Municipality shared the celebration on their official Facebook account.
Significance of Ramadan Bayram
Muslims first observe this holiday in the spring of Shawwal. It is one of two principal holidays and it goes by the name of Eid-al-Fitr. It is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal which is the tenth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. People observe this from all around the globe to recognize the ending of a month of fasting from dawn until dusk.

Georgia: The Minister of Refugees, Labor, Health and Social Protection from the Occupied Territories of Georgia, Mikheil Sarjveladze visits Turkmenistan to attend the international conference – “Year of Peace and Trust: Development of International Actions for Children”.
The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Labor, Health and Social Welfare shared a video of the international conference on its official Facebook page on March 30, 2025, Sunday.
In the video shared by the ministry, it was noted that the minister spoke at the conference. Mikheil Sarjveladze spoke about reforms and achievements made by the Georgian Government, which aim to improve children’s health and well-being.
It is noteworthy that, at the conference, the Minister of Health stressed Georgia’s progress in terms of the Universal Healthcare Program, Maternal and Newborn Health Strategy, and Social Program Implementation.
“As a result of this comprehensive and integrated approach, Georgia has achieved significant results: over the last decade, the death toll of children under one-year-old and children under five years old has decreased by 55%,” stated Mikheil Sarjveladze.
To provide children with high-quality healthcare and a safe environment, the minister pointed out that Georgia is actively collaborating with international partners, such as the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Japan Agency for International Cooperation (JICA).
Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze stated, “In partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), we are implementing a technical cooperation project to implement a maternal and child health manual.” “This encourages women to be actively involved in their own and children’s care from pregnancy to early child development,” he added.
During the visit, Mikheil Sarjveladze, together with representatives from other countries, discussed opportunities for deepening international cooperation to contribute to the effectiveness of initiatives related to child health protection and social welfare.
Notably, the international conference was attended by ministers from different countries, representatives of international organizations, experts, and civil society.
