Armenian-American producer Armen Zabounian, known professionally as Peyote Beats, has won a Grammy Award for his work on Doechii’s album “Alligator Bites Never Heal,” which took home Best Rap Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards—adding another milestone to his growing career, reports Zartonk Media.
Based in Los Angeles, Zabounian has collaborated with a star-studded lineup of artists across pop, R&B, and rap, including Tyga, Doechii, French Montana, Jhene Aiko, Pop Smoke, Trippie Redd, Roy Woods, Kalan.frfr, Mozzy, 6ix9ine, and more. His contributions to this award-winning album highlight Armenian talent on the global stage.
“Winning a Grammy is a dream come true, but representing my Armenian roots on this stage makes it even more special. Growing up, I never saw many Armenians in this space, so to be here now, contributing to music at the highest level, is something I take a lot of pride in. This is for the culture, for the community, and for everyone chasing their passion. I feel we as Armenians have so much to offer to the rest of the world as far as art so I hope this win can inspire fellow Armenians to make their mark in pop culture as well,” Zabounian told Zartonk Media.
“Used to dream about this when I lived in my studio in West Adams!! Best Rap Album for Doechii, which I had the honor to produce on. Shouts to Cheyenne Chaves and Devv at Top Dawg Entertainment for taking a chance with me in that meeting,” said Zabounian on social media.
A Woodbury University graduate with a BA in Business Marketing, Zabounian is now a music producer and songwriter based in Los Angeles. With roots in guitar and piano, his work delivers a unique instrumental sound that has set him apart in the industry.
With multiple chart-topping projects under his belt, Zabounian continues to prove that Armenian creatives are making waves in entertainment. His success reflects the growing impact of Armenian artists in the music world.
