Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message to Sir Keir Starmer on the occasion of assuming the post of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The message says:
“Your Excellency,Please accept my warmest congratulations on the victory of the Labor Party in the United Kingdom general election and your assumption of the office of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
I am sure that under your political leadership, the United Kingdom will achieve new successes both in the spheres of domestic and foreign policy.I am happy to record the consistent development and deepening of relations between our countries in recent years, which has raised bilateral cooperation to a new level of strategic dialogue. I sincerely hope that the current dynamics will not only continue, but will also be supplemented with prospective programs for the benefit of our two peoples.
I expect that in the near future we will have an opportunity to meet and discuss the possibilities of deepening the cooperation between our countries.
Congratulating you again, I wish you all the best, and peace and prosperity to the friendly people of the United Kingdom.”
Earlier it was reported that King Charles III of Great Britain accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Buckingham Palace issued a statement. “Honorable Rishi Sunak met the King this morning and tendered his resignation as Prime Minister, which His Majesty accepted.”
Starmer’s Labor Party won a majority in the House of Commons in snap parliamentary elections, marking the end of 14 years of Conservative rule in the country.
