First Armenian-American to be Honored with Highway Memorial Sign in America

In a momentous occasion for the Armenian-American community and the broader public, a memorial sign has been unveiled on U.S. Route 101, dedicating a section of this major highway to Katcho Achadjian. Katcho Achadjian’s career is a testament to the American Dream. After immigrating to the United States, he quickly established himself as a successful businessman and a dedicated public official. As a San Luis Obispo County Supervisor, Achadjian was known for his hands-on approach to governance and his commitment to community development. His legislative work in the California State Assembly was marked by significant reforms and initiatives in public safety and economic growth. In addition, it requires the Department of Education to include the atrocities of 1915 in their publication and teaching materials, ensuring that Armenian history is shared with future generations. His bill was successfully passed and voted into law.
