Eighth international ARS cruise a wonderful success


The eighth international cruise organized by the Armenian Relief Society (ARS) was a highly successful event, leaving all participants feeling satisfied and impressed with the organization’s remarkable work and mission.

A total of 230 ARS members and friends from various countries took part in the tour, which took place from April 17 to 29, 2024. The cruise itinerary included a three-day excursion in Argentina and two days in Brazil, providing the participants with unforgettable experiences.

While in Buenos Aires, the participants attended a divine liturgy at Armenian St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral, followed by a luncheon at the Armenian Cultural Center, where they enjoyed music performed by Elie Berberian and his band. During the seven-day cruise, Berberian and his band entertained the passengers with special musical events.

The passengers set sail on April 20, making a stop at Montevideo, Uruguay, where they were warmly welcomed by members of the ARS “Roupina” chapter and treated to a city tour and a visit to Surp Nerses Shnorhali Cathedral.

The ARS day on April 23 was particularly significant, featuring presentations on the organization’s programs and mission over the past two years, accompanied by cultural performances.

On April 24, a special event commemorating the Armenian Genocide took place, with participants observing a minute of silence in honor of the Genocide martyrs.

The cruise also made stops in Santos, Ilhabela, Búzios and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

The overall consensus was that the eighth international cruise was a huge success, leaving participants with lasting memories and new friends from around the world. The hard work of the cruise committee was instrumental in making the program a success.

The cruise is one of the fundraising events organized by the ARS to help provide funding for its humanitarian work, educational projects and medical assistance across the globe.
