The State Agency for Service to Citizens and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan (“ASAN service”) is starting a new project with the UN, according to Azerbaijan in Focus, reporting Azernews, citing the agency.
The agency noted that the delegation led by the Chairman of the State Agency, Ulvi Mehdiyev, participated in the 23rd session of the UN Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) held in New York as part of its visit to the United States.
He spoke at CEPA’s session entitled “Exchange of Promising Practices between Voluntary National Reporting Countries and Voluntary Local Reporting Cities for the Implementation of the 16th and 17th Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”. During the speech, detailed information was given about the activities of the “ASAN Service,” which was established on the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, as well as the projects implemented by the State Agency in the direction of achieving the 16th and 17th SDGs. At the same time, the achievements of “ASAN Service” in the international arena, as well as the importance of trainings carried out in various directions by “ASAN Innovative Development Centre,” were brought to attention.
Besides, Mehdiyev met with Li Junhua, Deputy Secretary General of the UN for Economic and Social Affairs. During the meeting, the successful cooperation between the State Agency and the relevant UN department since 2013 was touched upon. The other party drew attention to the fact that “ASAN service” was awarded twice by the UN, and said that the application of the corresponding model in other countries is of particular importance.
During the meeting, it was agreed to implement a new cooperation project between the State Agency and the UN in order to implement the “ASAN service” model in different countries.
In addition, a meeting was held with Ivana Zivkovic, director of the Regional Office of the United Nations Development Program. The Chairman of the State Agency made a broad presentation on the activities of “ASAN service”. The other side mentioned the projects implemented between the State Agency and the UN Development Program during the past period and said that they are ready to cooperate in the relevant directions from now on.
Mehdiyev met with Azerbaijani students studying in New York and surrounding states, as well as with young people living here, at the invitation of Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov.

A scientific conference themed “New Caledonia: History, Contemporary Challenges, and the Expected Future” has been held at the Milli Majlis, according to Azerbaijan in Focus, reporting Azernews.
The moderator of the event, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Human Rights Committee Zahid Oruj, highlighted the importance of the discussions to be held at the conference.
Chair of the New Caledonian Congress Committee on Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Sustainable Development, Energy, Transport, and Communications, Naisseline Omayra, expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for support in the freedom struggle of New Caledonia. She underscored that the cooperation memorandum inked between the two countries’ parliaments would open new opportunities for New Caledonia in many domains.
The speakers also included the chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee for International Relations and Interparliamentary Ties Samad Seyidov, as well as Executive Director of Baku Initiative Group Abbas Abbasov, who expressed their views on France’s new colonial policy, enslavement of peoples, looting of their natural resources, and other issues.
The New Caledonian Congress delegation expressed their gratitude for the consistent support shown by the chair of the Non-Aligned Movement of Azerbaijan in their rightful struggle for justice and the path to independence.

Azerbaijan and Türkiye have signed a declaration of intent on cooperation in the field of agricultural research and development, according to Azerbaijan in Focus, reporting Trend, citing the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan. The declaration was signed within the framework of the 11th meeting of the Turkish-Azerbaijani Agricultural Executive Committee.

Additionally, the sides discussed the current state and expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture at the meeting.
Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan Majnun Mammadov noted that the Republic of Türkiye is a reliable partner of Azerbaijan both in the field of agriculture and in all spheres.
He also emphasized that fruitful cooperation between the two countries continues in agrarian research, education, cotton growing, seed production, veterinary science, agrarian insurance, and other spheres.
Generally, it was mentioned at the meeting that there is a great potential for expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture and the need to increase trade turnover of agricultural and food products. In particular, the expansion of the export of products produced by Azerbaijan to the markets of Türkiye and Europe was mentioned.
Besides, in addition to the declaration of intent on cooperation, the meeting minutes were also signed.
Commenting on the signing of the documents, Majnun Mammadov expressed confidence that the signed documents will serve as a source of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in the field of agriculture, including the exchange of information in the field of scientific research, joint research works, the application of modern research methods, and the and the development of the agrarian sphere in general.
Türkiye’s Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Ibrahim Yumakli, in turn, underlined the importance of implementing all points of the Action Plan established between the two ministries.
“The dialogue with Azerbaijan is actively continuing. We attach great importance to cooperation, which serves to expand ties in the field of agriculture,” the Turkish minister added.
To note, within the framework of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation will familiarize themselves with the activities of the Eastern Aghdeniz Agricultural Research Institute and modern irrigation systems controlled by artificial intelligence in the Adana region.
