Armenia expects the civilized world to condemn Azerbaijan’s unlawful actions – Ambassador


On January 28, the Japan-Armenia Friendship Association (JAFA) organized a presentation of photos taken in Berdzor corridor by Japanese photojournalist Makio Matsumura.

Mr. Matsumura visited Armenia in October and personally photographed the flow of Artsakh refugees to Armenia through the Berdzor Corridor.

Addressing the audience, Ambassador Hovhannisian thanked Japan-Armenia Friendship Association and Mr. Hideharu Nakajima, for organizing the exhibition and for standing by Armenia in difficult times.

“What Mr. Matsumura recorded in his photos and presented to us was the inability of current international order and mechanisms to make certain states to act according to international law,” noted the Ambassador and added that pursuant to Azerbaijan’s international obligations, the Berdzor Corridor must have been functional to this day.

The Ambassador noted, that Armenia expects that the democratic world, which Japan is part of, will condemn the unlawful actions of Azerbaijan and thus contribute to the peace in South Caucasus.

Ambassador: Historic presidential election to be held across entire territory of Azerbaijan


“For the first time in the history of independent Azerbaijan, the presidential election will be held across the entire territory of the country,” stated Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu in an interview with TASS, according to Azerbaijan in Focus, reporting AzerTac.

The head of the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission emphasized: “In the newly liberated areas, precinct election commissions have already been established, ensuring all necessary arrangements for casting ballots.”

Polad Bulbuloglu added: “Undoubtedly, the setup outlined above indicates that our citizens, both in Azerbaijan and beyond its borders, will demonstrate high levels of engagement. I have no doubt that they will make the best decision for the benefit of a strong and prosperous Azerbaijan.”

Azerbaijanis stage protest rally outside European Union Tbilisi office in Georgia


On Sunday, Azerbaijanis living in Georgia held a protest rally outside the European Union Tbilisi office on the initiative of the House of Azerbaijan, according to Azerbaijan in Focus, reporting AzerTac.

The protesters held up slogans such as “Stop Armenian terror”, “End environmental terrorism by Armenia”, “End discrimination and double standards!”, as well as “Justice for Khojaly!”.

Head of the “House of Azerbaijan” Mahabbat Imanov, in his interview, said that the protest action was staged to demand an end to the biased position of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and Armenian lies.

Hundreds of Azerbaijanis joined the peaceful protest rally.

Azerbaijan’s animated film “Hadis” triumphs at PIAFF


Azerbaijan’s animated film “Hadis” achieved remarkable success at the 14th edition of PIAFF, the Paris International Animation Film Festival, earning the prestigious “Audience Award”, according to Azerbaijan in Focus, reporting AzerTac.

Directed by Nazrin Aghamaliyeva and produced by Rashid Aghamaliyev, “Hadis” portrays the story of a young girl`s quest for justice in a world dominated by symbolic crows.

The short animated film is dedicated to Hadis Najafi, a 22-year-old ethnic Azerbaijani Turk who was tragically killed by Iranian security forces during protests in Iran on September 21, 2022. It also pays homage to those who bravely oppose gender, ethnic and cultural discrimination in the country.

Co-written by Ismail Iman and Nazrin Aghamaliyeva, with Masud Panahi serving as a consultant, “Hadis” features lead animation by Andrea Szelesová and editing by Jorge Sánchez Calderón. Voice acting is performed by Zohre Karimi, while the captivating soundtrack showcases the music of renowned Azerbaijani musician Sevda Alakbarzade.

Produced by ANIMAFILM Studio with financial support from the Azerbaijan Cultural Society of Northern California, “Hadis” received media backing from the Azerbaijan Animation Association and the Akinchi platform.

Its premiere occurred at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, a prestigious event in the animation world. The film has been submitted to 38 international festivals, four of which – such as the BUSAN International Film Festival, ANIMEST International Animation Film Festival, Annecy International Animated Film Festival and Izmir International Short Film Festival – are Oscar-qualifying festivals.

“Hadis” has won awards at various international film festivals in Türkiye, Germany, Italy, France, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.
