Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan has congratulated the King of Denmark on the accession to the throne.
“Cordial congratulations to His Majesty King Frederik X on the accession to the throne of the Kingdom of Denmark. Confident that under His Majesty’s reign, Denmark will continue its further progress and prosperity,” the President said in a post on X.
“Armenia cherishes its warm relations with Denmark based on shared values. Wishing His Majesty all the success in this most important mission,” he added.
Denmark’s King Frederik X took the throne after the abdication of his mother Queen Margrethe II.
For many in Denmark, his mother Margrethe was the only monarch they had ever known. But her shock abdication, after more than five decades on the throne, paved the way for her son, the former Crown Prince Frederik, to succeed her.
The handover took place at a cabinet meeting at Christiansborg Palace in the capital Copenhagen, when Margrethe signed a declaration of her abdication, officially transferring the crown to Frederik.
