Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan had a meeting with Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways of India, within the framework of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in the state of Gujarat, India.
Deputy Minister Narek Teryan and Armenian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India Vahagn Afyan were also present at the meeting.
A number of issues related to increasing the volume of trade between the two countries, expansion of logistics infrastructure, India-Iran-Armenia trade channels were discussed.
Vahan Kerobyan emphasized that Armenia can become a transit country for India to EAEU and European countries.
“We continue to believe that a durable peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan is possible,” US Department of State Spokesperson Vedant Patel said at a daily briefing.
“It’s something that the department will continue to work towards. Obviously, Coordinator Bono, the Secretary, and others continue to be deeply engaged on this,” he said.
US Special Adviser for the Caucasus Negotiations Louis Bono visited the region this week for talks.
