Saleh Arouri, the deputy chief of Hamas’s political bureau, was killed on Tuesday in an Israeli attack.
Nasrallah said that Hezbollah would not stand idly by while Israel kills its allies in Lebanon. He warned that Hezbollah has the capability and the will to strike back at any time and place. He also accused the United States of being complicit in the killing of Arouri, saying that “Americans have to pay” for their support of Israel. He called on the Palestinian factions to unite and resist the Israeli aggression, saying that “the resistance is the only option to liberate Palestine and Jerusalem”.
The killing of Arouri has raised tensions in the region, as Israel and Hamas are still engaged in a fierce war in Gaza that has claimed more than 22000 lives, mostly civilians.
