Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Skopje.
Issues of expansion of the Armenia-EU partnership agenda were discussed at the meeting. Ararat Mirzoyan and Josep Borrell thoroughly reflected on the existing perspectives and efforts in that direction, in favor of closer Armenia-EU rapprochement and ensuring tangible results for the citizens.
Reference was made to the effective discussions held recently in Yerevan and Brussels with the participation of representatives of the EU and its member states, the readiness of the parties to implement the ambitious Armenia-EU agenda was emphasized.
In a follow-up to the meeting held in Granada in October, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the High Representative of the EU Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs discussed issues of security in the South Caucasus.
Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of diplomatic efforts aimed at restraining any ambitions towards the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia, implementing regional inclusive programs and establishing lasting stability.
In this context, Minister Mirzoyan also presented the “Crossroads of Peace” program developed by the Armenian government.
Reference was made to the steps taken to address the needs and rights of more than 100,000 people of Nagorno Karabakh, including through the involvement of international partners.
