A plaque dedicated to Aram Khachaturian was unveiled in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, on November 27. The ceremony was attended by Head of the Prime Minister’s Office, Arayik Harutyunyan, chairman of the 120th anniversary committee of Aram Khachaturian.
The memorial plaque was placed at 93 Uznadze Street, where the world-famous composer lived in 1906-1922.
Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Daniel Danielyan and President of Tbilisi City Assembly (Sakrebulo) Giorgi Tghemaladze were also present at the event.
In his opening remarks, Armenia’s Ambassador to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan emphasized the influence of the years spent in Georgia on Aram Khachaturian the composer and expressed gratitude to the Tbilisi City Assembly for supporting the initiative of Armenian Embassy in Georgia and the Aram Khachaturian House-Museum in Yerevan.
