Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction unflinchingly condemns the abhorrent war crimes perpetrated by the Israeli military in its recent massacre at the al-Fakhoora school in the Jabalia refugee camp and the subsequent bombing of another educational institution in Tal al-Zaatar. This repugnant genocidal atrocity, executed with ruthless precision yesterday, has led to the heart-wrenching loss of 220 innocent lives, with half of the victims being defenseless children—an appalling addition to the 12,000 innocent civilians already slain by Israel since its declaration of war on Gaza on October 8th.

Dimitri Diliani, spokesperson for Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction, declares, “The merciless bombardment of the al-Fakhoora and Tal al-Zaatar schools epitomizes a heinous war crime, a blatant violation of international law and human rights. The intentional targeting of United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA)-administered facilities underscores a blatant disregard for the sanctity of civilian spaces and the lives entrusted to their care in times of war and massacres systematically executed by the Israeli occupation army.”

The significance of these schools as shelters for hundreds of displaced individuals further magnifies the gravity of Israel’s assault. The Jabalia refugee camp, already a symbol of dispossession and displacement, now stands as a tragic testament to the devastation wrought by this unwarranted Israeli act of brutality.

As Diliani asserts, “The Israeli government’s actions are nothing short of war crimes—deliberate and systematic attack on innocent civilians. This assault on UNRWA-run schools, turned shelters to provide refuge to those in desperate need as a result of Israel’s bombings of their homes, showcases a callousness that is one of the genocidal characteristics of the Israeli occupying forces.”

Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction calls upon the international community to condemn these blatant war crimes and hold Israel accountable for its actions. Fateh Reformists urgently implore the United Nations Security Council to launch an immediate and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding these bombings and other genocidal war crimes committed by Israel in its ruthless war against Gaza civilians. The goal is to bring those responsible for this atrocity to justice and put an end to the reign of Israeli terror unleashed upon innocent civilian lives.
