Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has branded Israel a “terror state” that is committing “genocide” in Gaza and claimed the country’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a ‘goner.’
The Turkish president has urged Benjamin Netanyahu to reveal whether Israel has nuclear weapons.
In remarks on Wednesday to the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) parliamentary group meeting in Ankara, Erdogan also challenged Netanyahu to reveal whether Israel possesses nuclear weapons, before adding that such an arsenal won’t help the embattled prime minister anyway.
Erdogan launched several personal attacks at the Israeli leader, claiming that Netanyahu is bound to lose his post regardless of how the hostilities in Gaza play out
Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan met with Margaritis Skhinas, Vice President of the European Commission Promoting the European Way if Life.
A number of issues of Armenia-EU partnership agenda were discussed. The parties hailed the deepening of dialogue including various directions, expressing readiness to contribute to its further expansion with new initiatives.
Welcoming the positive dynamics regarding the start of visa liberalization dialogue, Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that the final decision in this direction will be consistent with the deepening cooperation between RA and the EU and will play a significant role in promoting people-to-people contacts.
RA Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Vice-President of the European Commission discussed current and future cooperation with the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex), as well as issues of mutual interest in the security sector.
The progress made by Armenia on a number of indicators related to the European way of life was emphasized on both sides, and the EU’s continued support for ambitious reforms in the field of strengthening democratic institutions, rule of law and protection of human rights in Armenia was highlighted.
Regional stability issues were also addressed. Minister Mirzoyan presented the vision of the Republic of Armenia regarding the establishment of long-term peace in the region, as well as the steps of the Government of the Republic of Armenia aimed at addressing the needs and rights of more than 100 thousand Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh as a result of ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijan.
