The Republic of Armenia is interested in the unblocking of regional communications, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said during the Q&A session at the National Assembly.
He stressed that the infrastructure should function within the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries they pass through on the basis of reciprocity and equality.
Furthermore, he said, the Armenian government has even worked out and is promoting a program – the Crossroads of Peace – to encourage this unblocking.
“We are confident that the regional communication and logistic infrastructure passing through Armenia will contribute to peace-building in the region, and Armenia is the first beneficiary and the first promoter of this project,” he said.
Everything should be done in line with international law with respect to the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries,” Minister Mirzoyan said.
