The 40th meeting of the Permanent Council of Culture Ministers of TURKSOY, jointly organized by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and TURKSOY, has been held in Shusha, according to Azerbaijan in Focus, reporting AzerTac.
Addressing the event, Minister of Culture Adil Karimli highlighted the importance of the meeting.

TURKSOY General Secretary Sultan Raev mentioned that this year’s meeting coincided with an important year, which marks the 100th anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye and the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY.
Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Shusha district Aydin Karimov noted that the cultural capital of Azerbaijan – Shusha city, was announced the “Cultural capital of the Turkic world-2023” at the Meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY Member States in Bursa, Türkiye, on March 31, 2022. Karimov also noted that in accordance with the order signed by President Ilham Aliyev, various events have been held in Shusha this year.

Other speakers of the event included First Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Kairat Imanaliev, as well as First Deputy Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Bakhodir Akhmedov, Turkish Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Serdar Çam, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Fikri Ataoğlu, Secretary-General of Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries (TURKPA) Mehmet Sureyya Er and ITA President Shahin Mustafayev.

The conference themed “20 Years of Unparalleled Services to Motherland, People and Statehood” co-chaired by Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov and Head of the Presidential Administration Samir Nuriyev has been held at the Gulustan Palace in Baku, according to Azerbaijan in Focus, reporting AzerTac.
The conference, dedicated to the activities of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during his presidency, featured reports on the achievements and historical victories of Azerbaijan in the last twenty years.
The speakers at the conference included Prime Minister Ali Asadov, Head of the Presidential Administration Samir Nuriyev, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Vice-chair of the New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farhad Abdullayev, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, Head of the Baku City Executive Authority Eldar Azizov, Chairperson of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Bahar Muradova, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sahil Babayev and Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev.
Then, a documentary titled “The economic successes of the past 20 years” was screened.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar, according to Azerbaijan in Focus, reporting Trend.
During the meeting, they expressed satisfaction with the expansion of relations based on historical bonds among the peoples of the Turkic world, and the existence of opportunities for enhancing humanitarian, cultural, educational and sport cooperation between the peoples.
In this context, the President of Azerbaijan highlighted the role of the Organization of Turkic States as an effective platform and expressed hope that the peoples of the Turkic world would develop their relations in various fields. The head of state pointed out that Azerbaijan had always contributed to the closer unity of the Turkic world and would remain committed to the ideas of Turkic world unity.
The meeting also addressed the activity of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as an observer at the Organization of Turkic States. They noted that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus had had an observer status for a long time at the Economic Cooperation Organization and Organization of Islamic Cooperation. For this reason, the observer status of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus at the Organization of Turkic States is totally logical.
Ersin Tatar, for his part, congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on Azerbaijan’s fully restoring its sovereignty. He also expressed content with the events held in Baku as part of the Days of Culture of the Northern Cyprus, and thanked the President of Azerbaijan for the conditions created.
The meeting also saw discussions on cooperation in tourism, science and student exchange.
Then, the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus presented a keepsake to the head of state.
